As my skill goes up, should I see a greater return on my bases income?
-
Yes.
-
Under 10000, you get -1% for 500 points (approximative). You get -20% when you reach 10000. Over 10000, you get -1% for 200 points. So you should reach -45% at 15000 (I'm not there yet, so I may be mistaken).
-
So the fellas with 15k used points to get there or daily income deposit? Seems like it's taking waaaaaay longer then it should.
-
The max is -49% at 15000

I used TIB to get there. Otherwise, no way to do it even after a year of play.

If it wasn't stated directly before, you earn points when you collect your income, based on what percent of a 24-hour day has elapsed since the last time you collected your income.
Wait exactly 24 hours to collect your income, and you'll earn 10 income skill points.
The minimum increment is 1 point for 10% of a day, i.e. 2.4 hours. The formula seems to round the actual time to the nearest point, from what I could tell.
That means if you collect your income after 1.2 hours (72 minutes) you'll get 1 point, but if you collect after only 71 minutes, you'll get 0 points.
I have not checked whether it is possible to earn more than the maximum 10 points per day by collecting every 72 minutes.
But the short answer is if you're collecting once every day, every day is worth 10 points. Since at that pace it would take 1,500 days (>4 years) to hit 15,000 points, you can be quite certain everyone already there has used tib to buy those skill points.

I don't know about every one else but I seem to be getting 1 income skill point for every 1M$ I collect. I'm getting more than 10 skill points a day since I make more than that even after weapon upkeep. I'm past the 10K mark so maybe that's why I'm seeing that rate.
-
If I wait until my account is full I pull in 10 points.

It might be different past 10k, but personally I doubt it, since the other skills like base building don't seem to change their earning rate past 10k.

That's not true. Unless the game rules apply differently to us. My income went up as I increased my skill. It seemed to be a curve, though, as it increased faster as I got closer to 15k. And base building skill increased my build distance all along the way. It also increased more quickly the closer I got to 15k.Scanning: same deal.

Squirrelpig, I don't think we're talking about the same thing. I think you're talking about the size of the effect, where I'm talking about only the number of skill points that appears on your profile page.
-
I would add, you are entirely correct about the effect getting larger as skill points rise. What I was describing were the reasons I believe the Income skillpoint gains are pegged to 10 per day.
-
Roger that.

Maxed income skill of 25k pays -97%
